Julia Loft has always had a passion for local agriculture and food. She grew up on a farm in Lambton County and has early memories of shelling peas and pickling beans with her grandparents. She attended the University of Guelph to study Agriculture and started a career in Agricultural public relations.
Sharing Organic was launched as a co-operative effort in July 2014 with her sister Jaela Van Bommel as both were searching for a one stop shop for local organic produce for their families. It started with five member families that first week and has grown into a large community who share a love of local food.
Julia lives on a farm with her husband Mark. They continue to grow sweet corn, produce maple syrup and work on the third generation family farm just outside Ilderton.
